ITINERARY:
DAY 1 – ROME/NAPLES/POMPEII/AMALFI
Guests will be picked-up from your centrally located hotel between 6:45-7:00 a.m. and begin their journey towards the Campania region, seeing picturesque views of the abbey of Montecassino along the way. There will be a short panoramic city tour upon arriving in Naples, where you will see the Mergellina neighborhood, Castel dell’Ovo, Plebiscito Square, the Royal Palace, Maschio Angioino, and the port. After stopping at a cameo and coral factory, you will make your way to Pompeii, visiting the ruins of the famous roman city, destroyed by the eruption of mount Vesuvius in 79 a.D. After lunch in a traditional restaurant in Pompeii, you will continue on to Amalfi for dinner and an overnight stay.
DAY 2 – AMALFI
Enjoy a leisurely day of exploring the wonderful coastal resort of Amalfi, taking in the city’s many sites. Return to your hotel for dinner and a well- deserved night of rest.
DAY 3 – AMALFI/CAPRI
After breakfast at your hotel, spend the morning strolling the streets of Amalfi and seeing any of the sights you might have missed the day before. Around 11:30am, board the bus for Sorrento, where you will board a boat to Capri. Check in to your new hotel and rest up for the day ahead.
DAY 4 – CAPRI
Set out early to discover the beauty of Capri at your own pace. Depending on weather and sea conditions, you may even want to venture in a small rowboat to the famous and mysterious blue grotta. Return to your hotel for your last evening in Capri.
DAY 5 – CAPRI/ROME
Spend a leisurely morning eating breakfast at your hotel and doing some last minute sight-seeing in Capri. Between 4:00-4:30 in the afternoon, depart for Naples and go on to Rome, where the tour will come to an end. (Estimated arrival in Rome is 9:00pm.)
NOTE: 1) Participants must bring with them only 1 piece of luggage (which will be stowed in the bottom compartment of the coach bus, during check-in and check-out from accommodation) Only one carry-on or purse is permitted on board. 2) In Sorrento, when dinner included in the program, we highly recommend to wear long trousers, in order to be admitted to the restaurant hall.
