The West Coast in detail. From Funchal we pass through Câmara de Lobos (fishing Village) and the worlds second highest sea cliff Cabo Girão, Stop at Ribeira Brava, then on to Encumeada, São Vicente, heading to Porto Moniz (known for its natural swimming pools) for lunch. Return to Funchal passing by Fonte do Bispo, stopping at the village of Calheta. Return to Funchal.

We leave Funchal behind and climb up through Camacha, the wicker work village, on to Poiso, and to the second highest point, Pico do Arieiro. Next stop Ribeiro Frio . Lunch will be served at Faial . Then on to Santana where you will see the typical thatched roofed cottages. Then on to Porto da Cruz, Portela, Machico and return to Funchal.

Porto Santo is an island of rare beauty, quite different from Madeira, in spite of its proximity. Its main attraction is a beach nine kilometres long, washed by a deliciously calm, limpid, deep-blue sea. It is known as the “golden isle, because of its arid landscape full of warm shades of brown and yellow. The island was named by Portuguese discoverers after many days at sea. (The name literally means “blessed port”). Departure to Porto Santo on board of the ferry “Lobo Marinho. At Porto Santo, excursion all around the island followed of lunch – Calheta/ Ponta/Cabeço/Campo de Baixo/Pedras Pretas/ Centro da Cidade/Casinhas/ Portela/Serra de Fora /Serra de Dentro/Camacha/Fonte Areia/Pico Castelo/Pé do Pico.
