A city that has remained alive for 3.500 years beneath the lava, tells its story to today’s visitors .

A visit to Akrotiri is the best way to witness the unique connection of the island of Santorini with the volcano. The multi- floored public buildings, drainage facilities, stables, food stores, workshops of all sorts of art, textiles, metallurgy, shipbuilding and other specialties are standing all over the site.
