DAY 1 - PALERMO

Private transfer from Palermo airport to Hotel MERCURE PALERMO EXCELSIOR 4**** or similar. Dinner and overnight in your hotel.

DAY 2 - PALERMO/ CEFALU’/ CASTELBUONO tasting of Sicilian typical products/ CATANIA

After a buffet breakfast, depart to Cefalù, charming coastal town, a former fishing village which is also home to a breathtaking Norman Cathedral with dazzling mosaics. Take a stroll to the city centre and down main street to reach the Cathedral and the medieval wash-house built in the rock. Proceed to Castelbuono, a typical medieval village on the slopes of the Madonie. Take a walk down the main street, where you can admire the Church of “Matrice Vecchia” and the “Castello dei Ventimiglia” famous for its Palatine Chapel dedicated to Saint Anne, the Patron Saint of the city. Stop at a renowned pastry shop to have a tasting of Sicilian typical products: panettone and the famous artisan liquors (Rosolio) of various flavours. Lunch on your own. Proceed to Catania, crossing the famous Natural Park of the Madonie. Accommodation, dinner and overnight at the Hotel MERCURE CATANIA EXCELSIOR 4**** or similar.

DAY 3 - CATANIA/ SIRACUSA/ NOTO/ CATANIA

After a buffet breakfast, depart to Syracuse to visit the most beautiful Greek colony of Sicily. Visit of the archaeological park “Neapolis”, including the famous Latomie of the Paradise, the Greek Theatre and the Dyonisios “Ear”. Visit the island of Ortigia, the small baroque old city centre of Siracusa: here you can admire the Cathedral, which is built on the site of the Temple of Minerva, the legendary “Fontana Arethusa” and the Temple of Apollo. Lunch on your own. In the afternoon, proceed to Noto, one of the most beautiful cities in Sicily renowned for the harmony and unity of its Baroque style and today declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. Back to Catania: dinner and overnight in your Hotel.

DAY 4 - CATANIA/ MOUNT ETNA/ TAORMINA/ CATANIA

After a buffet breakfast, weather conditions permitting, excursion to Mount Etna, the highest active volcano in Europe. Across fascinating landscape, we will reach a height of 1900 metres to visit the Sylvester Craters where you can enjoy a spectacular panorama over the Ionian Sea. Lunch on your own. Continue to Taormina, charming city called "the pearl of the Ionian Sea", founded in 400 BC and beautifully located overlooking the sea and the peak of Mount Etna. Enjoy time at leisure to shop for handmade lace, coral jewels, ceramics, home-made sweets and preserves down “Corso Umberto” or simply walk through its tiny streets. Individual visit of the fascinating Greek-Roman theatre. Back to your Hotel in Catania: dinner and overnight.

DAY 5 - CATANIA/ PIAZZA ARMERINA/ AGRIGENTO

After a buffet breakfast, depart to Piazza Armerina in the inland of Sicily, to visit the worldwide known Villa Romana del Casale: it is the richest, largest and most complex collection of late Roman mosaics in the world and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Continue to Agrigento, a hillside town famous for its magnificent Valley Of Temples, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Lunch on your own. In the afternoon, guided tour of the Valley including the Temple of Concord, which is in almost perfectly preserved conditions, Juno and Heracles that represent the most beautiful example of the Greek Civilization in Sicily. Accommodation, dinner and overnight at Hotel DIOSCURI BAY PALACE 4**** or similar.

DAY 6 - AGRIGENTO/ SELINUNTE/ ERICE/ PALERMO

After a buffet breakfast, depart to the Archaeological Park of Selinunte, the largest in the Mediterranean area with the impressive Temples and Acropolis. Lunch on your own. Continue to Erice, a medieval town full of myth, history and art on the summit of Monte San Giuliano: walk through its winding lanes, inner courtyards and cobbled streets. Proceed to Palermo. Accommodation, dinner and overnight at Hotel MERCURE PALERMO EXCELSIOR 4**** or similar.

DAY 7 - PALERMO/ MONREALE/ PALERMO

After a buffet breakfast, depart to Monreale to admire the Cathedral with its splendid 12th century mosaics representing a complete cycle of the Old and New Testaments, and the Cloister of the Benedictines Abbey with its Moorish architecture. Continue with the visit of the Capital of Sicily, Palermo, one of the richest towns in the island for history and art: the Cathedral, the Palace of the Normans and its superb “Palatina" Chapel; enjoy a panoramic tour of the historical centre (the "Quattro Canti", the Opera House, the Pretoria Square). Lunch on your own. Afternoon at leisure for individual visits or shopping. Dinner and overnight in your Hotel.

DAY 8 - PALERMO

After a buffet breakfast, private transfer to Palermo airport. End of the Tour.
