The Casa do Comendador is a development of Rural Tourism in the Municipality of São Roque, Pico Island, Azores, Portugal. Facing the Azores triangle (Pico, Faial and São Jorge islands), it is an excellent choice for your holiday – vacation, business or honeymoon. In the Houses you will find a range of amenities: free internet, reading room and library, TFT and plasma televisions and traditional daily breakfast. You can choose from 3 types of beds (6 double-rooms – 2 rooms with double bed). Here we combine our ancestry, the past and the present.

Rooms at Comendador are bright and modern in style. The spacious and lighted rooms breathe sobriety and refinement. There’s peace and comfort everywhere. An atmosphere of kindness and hospitality is experienced. Internet and a reading room. And each room is equipped with plasma TV. All rooms have a private bathroom with free toiletries, and some have a sea view balcony. Free WiFi is provided throughout the property.

Past and present are here conjugated as well as ancestry and modernity. In this house the cistern, the lake and the pigsty cohabit with the solar panels; the old bell coexists with the LCD equipment.

Casa do Comendador keeps its history, having a regular and harmonious display, a huge gate of forged iron, basaltic constructions, squared stone bars, with a significant number of doors and windows, green wood shutters, pine wood floors, arm and other fine details which shows the wealth of its first owner, João Pereira Tomás, from Pico, who returned to his homeland for health reasons.
