ITINERARY
Day 1 - Milan/Genoa
At 8:30am, depart from Hotel Jolly Machiavelli for Genoa, one of the largest seaports in southern Europe. The first port in Italy, this town has an important maritime history, the center of which has grown around the dock area. Visit the modernized “Ancient Port,” with its restored buildings and new structures, such as the aquarium (the biggest in Europe). Overnight.
Day 2 - Genoa/Sanremo/Genoa
Breakfast at hotel, set off for Sanremo, known for its flower cultivation and for hosting the Italian Song Festival. This little town on the Riviera of Ponente offers many possibilities, like sandy beaches for those who like to catch some rays and shady promenades for those who need a break from the sun. The town’s famous casino sits at the top of the most elegant street in town, where you can find trendy clothing shops and chic cafés. After lunch on your own, return to Genoa, on the way passing through other traditional villages of the Italian Riviera. Overnight.
Day 3 - Genoa/Portovenere/ Cinque Terre/Genoa
Leave for Portovenere after lunch, a fishing village located on La Spezia Gulf. After a visit of the town, board the ferry to Cinque Terre, a group of five villages perched atop the cliffs of the Italian Riviera (If weather and sea conditions aren’t ideal, this panoramic tour will be taken via minibus). Lunch at leisure, and in the afternoon return to Portovenere before returning to Genoa for overnight.
Day 4 - Genoa/S.ta Margherita Ligure/Portofino/Camogli/Milan
Depart for Santa Margherita Ligure after breakfast. This famous seaside town is known for its relaxing beaches and beautiful azaleas. Tucked into a bay in the Gulf of Tigullio, this idyllic little town is protected on its east side by neighboring resort town Portofino. You will have the chance to visit both Santa Margherita Ligure and Portofino, two exclusive locations loved by VIPs and artists. In Portofino’s main square is an unrivalled view of the surrounding colorful, picturesque houses. See luxury yachts from all over the world entering and leaving the port. After spending some time in Portofino, you will board a minibus to Camogli, a town with some of the best examples of architecture typical of the Liguria coast. Afternoon return to Milan, end of services. |
