ITINERARY
Day 1
Arrival in Florence and accommodation at the hotel. Afternoon at leisure to start living in the beauties of “The Cradle of Renaissance”. You can take a romantic walk on your own along the Arno River, crossing the ancient bridges that connect the two sides of the city and feel the artistic greatness surrounding you in this special place, one of the most beautiful Italian cities. Dinner on your own and overnight.
Day 2:
After breakfast, the morning is spent discovering the fresh food market of San Lorenzo, in the historical centre of the city extended from Piazza San Lorenzo to Via dell’Ariento. You will meet your assistant in Piazza Duomo at 10am and from here you will visit the most important market of the city (closed Sun & Mon). Just walk around among the clothing, leather articles, souvenirs... but soon you will be concentrating searching for the fresh food you will need in order to enjoy your cooking class! Only in this way will you realize what makes Tuscan cuisine so well known around the world.
Around 11am your assistant will accompany you at the Palazzo Galli Tassi to start your cooking class. Then you will enjoy the lunch prepared during your class. After lunch, around 2:30pm, the afternoon is free. We suggest something like an Artisan’s workshop tour on your own. This walking tour will take you into a world long lost anywhere else but the antique streets of Florence. Here you will find exquisite jewelry made by master craftsmen with workshops classified as museums. Here there are also Italy’s most famous wood carvers, and if you want to have your own unique perfume designed just for you... it’s possible, just ask! Dinner on your own and overnight.
Day 3
After breakfast the morning is free to discover on your own the famous markets of Florence. You have different choices: Sant’Ambrogio Market is located in Piazza Ghiberti and Piazza Sant’Ambrogio, the market is indoor or outdoor. Just wander around it and discover fresh fruits and vegetables, clothes, flowers, shoes and houseware stands, there is also fresh meat and fish, pasta good cheeses and general groceries. Hungry? Take a seat in the restaurant inside the market (good and inexpensive). The market is open every weekday (except Sunday) from 7am - 2pm. The famous Flea Market of Florence is located in Piazza dei Ciompi and it is open every day from 9am - 7:30pm. Here you can find furniture and antiques, prints, coins, jewelry, and affordable treasures amidst the bric-a-brac and dusty books. Lunch on your own. Then your private guide will meet you at the hotel to start a walking tour of Florence. We will visit the Cathedral complex outside: Cathedral with Brunelleschi’s grand cupola, Giotto’s Bell Tower, the Baptistery with its bronze doors, among the most famous the Gates of Paradise. Continue to Signoria Square with la Loggia de’Lanzi, Ponte Vecchio (the old bridge) and finish with a view of the 15th century Palazzo Pitti, built for the Pitti family and the last residence of the Medici family. Option to visit the Gallery of the Academy to admire the original “David” by Michelangelo and other masterpieces (see supplements). Farewell dinner at a local typical restaurant (drinks included). Overnight.

Breakfast at the hotel and departure. |
