2nd day: Hochpustertal – Cortina d’Ampezzo (approx. 35 km)
From Toblach you start on the bike path into the Höhlenstein Valley, past Lake Toblach and the war cemetery. This area was the front line of the 1st World War. You carry on past Lake Dürren (on the left you can see the famous “Drei Zinnen”) climb up slightly to the border between South Tyrol and Italy, "Gemärk - Cimabanche" and on to the province of Belluno. From here you cycle down into the valley, which opens up before you towards the south,
to arrive at the Dolomites town of Cortina.
3rd day: Cortina d’Ampezzo– Belluno (approx. 59 km)
Today you mainly follow the old railway track. As you leave Cortina, on the left you can see the Sorapis and on the right the “Fünf Türme“ – Cinque Torri - Five Towers. After reaching San Vito, you go through the Boite Valley in the south to Pieve/Calalzo. From here there is a short transfer by train to Longarone. This town was completely rebuilt in 1964 after a landslide filled the dam above the village causing it to be flooded out. You then cycle on further to Belluno.
4th day: Belluno – Feltre (approx. 39 km)
From Belluno, the small capital of this province (80.000 inhabitants), we cycle through avenues and hilly landscape to the end of this day in Feltre.
5th day: Feltre – Bassano del Grappa (approx. 50 km)
Shortly after Feltre you pass Lake Corlo and then descend steeply to the Brenta Valley. Where the river Brenta meets the plain is the town of Bassano del Grappa. The name of the town comes from the Monte Grappa, but you can also enjoy a well earned “Grappa” once you have arrived. Other places of interest in the town include San Francesco, the "Museo Civico" (Museum) or the Piazza della Libertà.
6th day: Bassano del Grappa – Treviso (approx. 57 km)
You now leave the Alps and can already see the first of Palladio’s wonderful villas. The town of Asolo is ideal for a rest before you carry on along the plains to Treviso, the town of the water striders. Along the canals there are many wonderful houses and shops to admire. This is the centre for Italian fashion.
