ITINERARY
Day 1 - Rome
Transfer to hotel on your own, overnight.
Day 2 - Rome/Assisi/Siena /Florence
Departure to Assisi. Stop for a panoramic visit of its Basilica and the church of St. Maria degli Angeli. Departure from Assisi on the “Autostrada del Sole” to Siena. This gothic city is constructed on three hills in the heart of Tuscany, encircled by ancient walls and is famous for its square “Piazza del Campo” where the “Palio” takes place. See also the elegant Palace and Cathedral. In the afternoon proceed to Florence. Dinner, overnight at hotel.
Day 3 - Florence (Pisa)
Breakfast at the hotel and morning city tour of Florence with its Dome by Brunelleschi, the Bell tower by Giotto and the Baptistery Continue through Piazza della Signoria, Palazzo Vecchio and the church of Santa Croce. In the afternoon, optional excursion to Pisa. This quiet and graceful town shows its past and greatness through the famous Piazza del Campo, with the Cathedral, Leaning Tower (Romanic bell tower of 58mt) and Baptistery. Dinner, overnight.
Day 4 - Florence/Padua/Venice
Breakfast at hotel and morning at leisure. Optional visit of Florence's museums. In the afternoon depart to Padua for a short visit of the Basilica of St. Anthony. On to Venice, dinner and overnight.
Day 5 - Venice
Breakfast at the hotel and visit this city built on 177 islands, 150 canals and 400 bridges. The sightseeing includes a panoramic of St. Mark's square and Doge's Palace (external). During the morning the group will stop in one of the famous Murano glass shops. Afternoon at leisure. Dinner and overnight at hotel.
Day 6 - Venice/San Marino/Rome
Breakfast at the hotel and depart from Piazzale Roma to San Marino, one of the smallest states in the world that still has its own currency, stamps and preserves its political system for over 9 centuries. Afternoon arrival in Rome. Overnight.
Day 7 - Rome
Breakfast at the hotel. Depart to visit the eternal city and its artistic beauties: Trevi Fountain, Pantheon, Castel Sant'Angelo, St. Peter Square with its Basilica. Afternoon at leisure. Optional visits to the Sistine chapel and Vatican Museums, Catacombs and Basilicas. Overnight.
Day 8 - Rome/Naples/Pompeii/ Sorrento
Breakfast at the hotel. After leaving Rome, the coach will take the “Sun Route” motorway, through Lazio and Campania, with a view of the Abbey of Montecassino. Upon arrival in Naples, city tour of Mergellina, Castel dell'Ovo Plebiscito Square, the Royal Palace, the Maschio Angioino and the port. Lunch in a restaurant on our way to Pompeii. Visit the excavations of the Roman city, destroyed by the eruption of Vesuvius in 79 A.D. Leave Pompeii and drive along the coast, arrive in Sorrento for dinner and overnight.
Day 9 - Sorrento
Day at leisure in Sorrento. HB at hotel.
Day 10 - Sorrento/Capri
After breakfast board the boat for the Island of Capri, where weather and sea conditions permitting, visit the Blue Grotto in small rowing boats. Lunch in restaurant and free time. In the afternoon transfer to hotel. Dinner and overnight.
Day 11 - Capri/Rome
Breakfast at the hotel. Morning at leisure and in the afternoon transfer to Rome for overnight.
Day 12 - Rome
Breakfast at hotel. End of services. |
