Itinerary
Day 1: Catania/Taormina
Arrival in Catania airport. Transfer to Taormina hotel. Overnight.
Day 2: Taormina
Breakfast at hotel. Day at leisure to enjoy this beautiful city in the Ionian coast. Overnight in hotel.
Day 3: Taormina/Siracusa/Taormina
Breakfast at hotel and regular excursion to Syracuse: enjoy a guided tour of this venerable city. Highlights: the Archaeological Park, Greek Theater, Latomia del Paradiso and Cave of Dyonisius’ Ear. Lunch on your own and back to Taormina. Overnight at hotel.
Day 4: Taormina/ Agrigento/Piazza Armerina/Taormina
Breakfast at hotel and regular excursion to Piazza Armerina: visit the splendid Villa romana del Casale famous for its more than 3500 sqm of well preserved mosaics. Lunch on your own. Continue to Agrigento, and experience a visit of the Valley of the Temples where we will be able to admire the best preserved temples in all of Magna Grecia. Back to Taormina. Overnight.
Day 5: Taormina/Catania/Malta
Breakfast at hotel and time at leisure till the scheduled transfer to Catania airport. Air Malta Flight in Economy. Arrive in Malta Luqa airport and transfer to your hotel. Overnight.
Day 6: Malta/Gozo/Malta
Breakfast at hotel and excursion to Gozo, a 20 min. ferry crossing away. As soon as we set foot in the pretty Gozitan port of Mgarr we will notice that although both islands are similar in history & development, Gozo has a character entirely of its own. Gozo boasts of more greenery than Malta with its hilly landscape and picturesque countryside, making it an island full of charm waiting to be discovered. In this excursion visit all the popular landmarks of Gozo such as the Citadel in Victoria, the famous Azur Window in Dwejra and the rocky cliffs in Xlendi Bay. Also included is a delicious three course lunch together with a spectacular cultural experience with a visit to Ggantijja Temples which are the oldest freestanding temples in the world. Since Gozo is well known for its woolen goods, handmade lace, honey and cheese we will also visit the market with free time for shopping and to sample these first hand. Back to Malta, overnight.
Day 7: Malta
Highlights Breakfast at hotel and regular excursion to discover the highlights of Malta: Visit Mosta Church with its famous Dome, considered to be the third largest in Europe. Then on to Ta’ Qali Crafts Village to watch artisans at work producing typical Maltese ware. Proceed to Mdina, Malta’s Silent City, visiting the Cathedral and the bastions, from where one can enjoy a panoramic view of the island. Then walk to Rabat visiting St. Paul’s Catacombs and then to Dingli cliffs and a visit to the Cart Ruts. Back to hotel, overnight.
Day 8: Malta
Breakfast at hotel and transfer to Luqa-Malta airport. End of our services. Note: Excursions from Taormina: To be able to participate in the excursions, clients must get to the nearest pick-up point on their own. Times and locations will be relayed to clients at their hotels. |
