This farm, which dates back to the first half of the19th century, is a particularly striking building, as it is built upwards and almost resembles a statue overlooking the surrounding plains. Recently restored to its original splendour, the farm offers guests extremely comfortable rooms with en suite facilities, all tastefully furnished with antique furniture. On the ground floor the gleaming white-stoned entrance with vaulted ceiling, leads to two beautiful sitting rooms with stone fireplace where, breakfast and dinner are served, featuring the traditional flavours of Puglia region´s traditional cuisine. Only 1kms from Rutigliano, a typical local town, and 6kms from the sea, its position, is in the very centre of the Puglia region and the province of Bari (18kmss), making the farm ideal for day-trips within a radius of 60kmss taking visitors to the splendid scenery of the valley of Itria (Ostuni, Alberobello, with the typical ´trulli´ (cone shaped dwellings), Locorotondo…) and the Romanesque coastal towns (Polignano, Bari and Trani). The 50 hectare farm produces an excellent red wine (´rosso primitivo´) and extra virgin olive oil. Visitors at dinner must not forget to taste Anna´s homemade ´limoncello´ (lemon liqueur) and her ´almond flowers´, special biscuits made with almond paste. Bari 18kms, beach 6kms. 5 bedrooms, sleeps 2/4 English and French spoken. Open all year.
