In the heart of the Lunigiana Hills, approximately 45 minutes´ drive from the Versilia district and the beautiful Cinque Terre, this holiday accommodation location is the result of the renovation of part of the ancient medieval village of Apella. The village, roughly 650m above sea level, is surrounded by centuries´ old chestnut groves and timeworn pathways which lead to the National Park of the Tuscan-Emilian Apennines. The complex, which holds both apartments and guest rooms, dates back to the 15th century and is built entirely of stone, with wooden ceilings, terracotta floors and sandstone lintels, all original features of Lunigiana architecture. Guest facilities include swimming pool (25 x 5 - open June/Sept.), bicycles, barbecue. Guided cycling and walking excursions can be organized along the paths which wind their way through the surrounding woodlands. Guests can taste and purchase all the farm´s own organic produce: vegetables, fruit, honey, chestnut flour and olive oil.
