Veneto:

Northeastern region, touched for almost 200km by the Adriatic Sea. More than half of the territory is made of plains (57%), while 29% of it is mountainous while only 14% of it is made of hills. Nature is undoubtedly one of the most characteristic aspects of Veneto, with its imposing mountains and natural parks, among which the Parco Nazionale delle Dolomiti Bellunesi and the Parco Naturale delle Dolomiti d'Ampezzo.

On the Dolomiti Bellunesi, there are more than 400km of ski tracks, representing the most important skiing destination of the region, which can also count on localities like the Altopiano di Asiago, where apart from skiing it is possible to practice horseback riding. Thermae can also be visited while staying on the mountains. The highest thermal location of the world, the terme di Valgrande, is at a height of 1,300m close to the border of Austria. Among the various parks, an important one is the Delta del Po park, where the river contributes in creating a fluvial ecosystem rich in fauna.

The landscapes of Veneto have inspired many artists: the Canaletto, with its famous views on Venice, has contributed in making unforgettable the Venetian light, making everything bright. Going to Venice, queen of the artistic cities, also means knowing a different light, which however does not overshadow other important localities like Padova, with the Cappella degli Scrovegni by Giotto and Vicenza, with its majestic Palladian villas and the frescoes from Veronese. For the sea lovers, the Lido di Venezia and other localities like Eraclea and Jesolo offers many possibilities like windsurfing or other sports. On Lake Garda, nature, sport and culture merge together to offer unique possibilities, like practicing water sports and then taking a walk in the various small towns around the lake, among which Lazise, one of the oldest towns in Italy, with its castle and defensive walls, and a history of settlements.

In Veneto it is also pleasant to discover the local enogastronomy. Light food, like rice or polenta, are accompanied by meat or cheese, but also fish and especially wines known all across the world, like the D.O.C. Colli Euganei, the Bardolino Bianco or the Cabernet.
