In the heart of Sardinia, directly on the beach, rises Horse Country. In the back the mountainous highlands of Arcidano and the Giara plateau of Gesturi, both rich in local flora and fauna. The beaches are still wild and uncontaminated, like the ecosystems populated by pink flamingos and rare species, this is a part of the island which remains still widely unknown and therefore still ready to discover, what better way than to do it by horse? A natural and pure environment is with no doubt the best place for long walks, excursions and trekking led by experienced guides. Horse Country is located just a few meters from the sea and it is surrounded by 23 hectares of greenery. At Horse Country, important equestrian competitions, spectacles and horse shows are held during the whole year in the Palacavallo, which can host in its tribunes 1.150 spectators. Moreover, Horse Country is furnished with an outdoor grass arena of more than 11.000 square meters. The wide area reserved for the horse stables, characterized by an internal court yard, was built in the traditional English style conferring to the complex an international taste and elegance.

The Horse Country project was created with the desire to make horseback riding a more widely accessible practice and above all with the desire to give everybody a chance to experience the thrill of having their very own horse. Driven and encouraged by a culture that has a passion for horses in its DNA, the owners and managers of Horse Country have created a structure that is currently one of the biggest and most comprehensive in Europe. This is real horse country where anyone can be an Amazon or a knight, and where riding marks the passage of time for guests who choose to take another kind of vacation in Sardinia at a place that knows how to offer more.

Here you can find a real western village with a saloon, genuine country music, 3 boutiques specialized in horse-riding items, a drugstore with hand-crafted goods, a wide choice of typical wine and food products representing Sardinian culture. The village comes to life at night with exhibitions of country music, "can-can" dancing events and mechanical bull races. You can choose your own horse provided by the centre, as your companion for the whole stay, or if you choose, you may bring your own horse on vacation with you.

HOTELS AND COTTAGES
The Horse Country Resort offers its guests the opportunity to stay in 3 different 4 star hotels, immersed in an ancient pine forest in Arborea, less than one hundred meters from the sea. There are more than 900 beds in charming rooms that are well designed in a mix of modern and traditional Sardinian. All the rooms are equipped with every comfort: private bathroom, direct dial telephone, satellite or digital TV, a safe, air conditioning/heating and a mini-bar. Standard rooms do not have balcony. Superior rooms have balcony or patio, pool or garden view. Junior suite has 2 wide connecting rooms with garden view. The cottages are immersed in the pine forest a few steps from the beach. 1, 2 and 3 room apartments.

RESTAURANTS
The culinary offer at Horse Country is prepared carefully with attention to detail by the most experienced gourmet chefs on the island and you will enjoy your food surrounded by the resort's stunning scenery.

"Fasolare". Central restaurant placed on the main area of the resort. Breakfast, lunch and dinner available. During the high season buffet service. Two wide rooms and one central room with buffet.

"L'Aragosta". A small room enriched by a large, romantic stone fireplace. We offer a menu based on traditional and international cuisine and an à la carte menu for a truly fine dining experience.

Barbecue". Close to the beach with an enchanting view to enjoy during your meals accompanied by a wonderful seaside breeze. Informal and casual at lunchtime, but at nightfall it turns romantic with live music for special events.

"Don Custer". A pizzeria located on a charming terrace with a wonderful view of the swimming pool. A wood-burning oven and buffet service for appetizers, desserts and beverages.

"Tex Mex" (new opening date pending). With a setting that brings us back to the golden age of the pioneers, it's placed in the Western Area. It proposes typical food and real cowboy menus!

BARS
For your relax time, to meet some new friend or simply to take a good drink, Horse Country offers to its guests the possibility to choose between several refreshment points as the beach bar, caffè and the characteristic old west style saloon, where you can enjoy with your friends and family.

Snack Bar Tropicana: Placed in front of the Tropicana Swimming pool, it's open mainly in the warmest months, is used as a snack bar in which you can relax and take good drink

American Bar Il Cedro: Surrounded by the pinewood, it's the meeting point for a drink or cocktail and wonderful entertainment evening with piano bar.

Bar Mirtillo: Placed near the reception in the central hall. Open during winter months.

Horse Country Saloon (opening 2009): In the middle of the Western Area of the Resort, it's the best place to relax, and meet friends by drinking a beer like real cowboys.
