The Altafiumara Hotel is Art, Well-being and Gourmet Cuisine in the heart of the Mediterranean. The Altafiumara Hotel arises in the middle of the splendid natural scenery that includes the Straits of Messina and the Costa Viola, that stretches between the towns of Villa San Giovanni and Scilla, just 15 km from Reggio Calabria.
The Altafiumara Hotels consist of three charming and extremely comfortable structures. Three different housing typologies for a total of 128 rooms, 40 suites, 38 junior suites and 49 standard rooms including the romantic and luxurious apartment – “Fata Morgana”.
1) The Castle Myth (5 stars): The historic castle, where works of art become a part of the surrounding nature, is ready to welcome you into its magical setting. Amidst antique scenarios and a hint of the future, it is easier the feel the myth of the straits and live its eternal fable. 2) The Sporting (5 stars): situated in the southern part of the park, immersed in greenery, is where you’ll find the swimming-pool and the cliff-edge putting green. Linked to the Wellness centre “Notos”, it has 36 suites, 6 junior suites, 4 classic rooms and the “Sporting” lounge bar. 3) The Islands (4 stars): Within a romantic garden, looking out towards the sea or facing the water-lily pond shaded by palm trees, the Islands include elegant rooms in Mediterranean style. Every room has its own patio surrounded by flower beds, full of the Mediterranean flora. It is furnished with a table and comfortable armchairs: the ideal place for a quiet, relaxing moment.
Rooms: Different residential typologies distinguished by their unmistakable style. Refined furnishings that give an immediate feeling of warmth and elegance, without neglecting the functionality of modern comforts.
The Fata Morgana Suite: The 110 m² presidential suite, on the first floor of the Castle, has its own entrance-hall, two rooms with respective bathrooms (the main one with a Jacuzzi bath and shower) and a large and luxurious lounge. It has a breath-taking view of the sea framed by Sicily, which seems so close that you could almost touch it. The sophisticated internal design is characterised by elegant furnishings and pink, tobacco and gold tones. Suites: The four suites situated in the Castle and the 36 suites situated in the Sporting welcome their guests into an elegant and exclusive environment full of warmth and charm, ideal for leisure or business trips. Junior Suites: There are 11 Junior suites in the Castle and 6 in the Sporting all elegantly furnished, spacious and equipped with all modern comforts. In these suites you can admire the works of many contemporary artists that are a part of the Altafiumara’s art collection. Junior Suite duplex: On the ground floor of the Castle there are 21 comfortable and elegant suite duplexes, some of which directly lead onto the Castle’s terrace with a beautiful view of the Straits. Some are built on two levels that separate the night area from the living area, connected by stairs. Standard: There are four classic rooms at the Sporting, characterised by their functionality, and 45 at the Islands, all furnished in a fresh, Mediterranean style in green, yellow and gold. Each one of these rooms has a patio with a table and chairs.
Bars & Restaurants: Excellent wine and cuisine according to the mediterranean tradition A suggestive atmosphere and view overlooking the sea… the ideal frame for special occasions, cocktails and successful gourmet appointments. Only top quality ingredients are used, some of which come directly from the hotel’s herb garden. A clever mixture of typically-Calabrian tastes and flavours, enriched by international culinary influences. The “I Due Mari” restaurant offers a gastronomic experience that is both tasteful and refined. The sun-filled Mediterranean cuisine is genuine and fragrant with just a touch of the exotic. In an elegant and informal setting, the restaurant can seat 90 people and has a splendid terrace with a wonderful view of the Straits of Messina. There is also a special low-calorie menu for those being treated at the Wellness centre “Notos”. Also, Wine Bar, Bar “Il Castello”, “Sporting” lounge bar, Herb tea Bar.
