ALITOURS CUBA TERMS AND
CONDITIONS
IMPORTANT NOTICE:
Booking made with Alitours; involve an agreement between you and Alitours plus other suppliers who provide the service for which you pay. Alitours does not own, manage, control or operate any transportation vehicle, hotel, resort or other supplier of service and is not responsible for their acts or omissions. The following information and conditions constitute your binding contract with Alitours and its supplier, please read carefully and understand all the information on this page as it sets out the conditions governing the provision of services.
HOW TO BOOK:
Alitours accepts booking only through travel agents, All communication prior to your departure, including payment and refund transaction must be made through your travel agent.
TO MAKE A BOOKING:
Alitours accepts booking through travel agents. All communication prior to your departure including payment and/or refund transaction will only be conducted through your travel agent. Bookings are accepted subject to availability and are considered confirmed once the appropriate non-refundable deposit payments or full payments have been received by Alitours and written confirmation has been issued.
Villas: 30% Deposit*
Air/Tours/Packages: $250 per person
Hotels: $50 or 10% of total price which ever is greater
Car rental: $100 per car
* Certain villas may require a higher deposit amount. Details available on request.
PAYMENT BY CREDIT CARD:
In the case of payment by credit card the signature of the cardholder is mandatory, and the travel agent must keep the proof of purchase and remit it to the TOUR OPERATOR; upon request the TOUR OPERATOR reserves the right to cancel the whole reservation in the case where the signature of the cardholder does not appear on the credit card payment form. In the case of the payment made over the telephone, the consumer, in authorizing the use of his credit card number by his travel agent, acknowledges the conditions of the reservation even if he/she has not signed the appropriate form, and agrees to sign the payment form upon request. In failing to concur, his/her reservation will be cancelled and subject to penalties herein indicated under the heading “Cancellation Fees”.
BALANCE OF PAYMENT:
Balance due is payable 45 days prior to departure. For late bookings (within 45 days) full payment is due immediately.
IF YOU CHANGE YOUR BOOKING:
A $ 50.00 administration charge will be applied for changes you make to your booking. Note: Changes cannot be made to departure dates within 45 days of departure, nor may the passenger’s name be changed (such will be treated as cancellation).
BAGGAGE:
Each person is entitled to two normal size pieces of checked luggage. Weight restriction vary between 10 and 32 kilos per person, consult your airline prior to departure. UNLESS INSURED, ALL BAGGAGE REMAINS AT THE OWNER’S RISK THROUGHOUT THE TRIP.
REFUNDS:
No refunds or adjustments will be made for portions of the trip or attendant service not taken or used.
CANCELLATIONS:
The intention to cancel must be communicated in writing to your travel agent. Cancellation penalties will be calculated based on the time notification is received by Alitours and are as follows.
Tours
- cancellation received up to 45 days prior to departure - Deposit amount
- Cancellation received between 45 and 21 days prior to departure - 50% of the total cost per person.
- Cancellation received less then 21 days prior to departure - 100 % of the total cost per person.
Villas
- cancellation received up to 45 days prior to departure - Deposit amount
- Cancellation received between 44 and 30 days prior to departure - 50% of the total cost per person.
- Cancellation received less then 29 days prior to departure - 100 % of the total cost per person.
Hotel
- Cancellation received more then 21 days prior to departure - $50 per person or 10% of total cost whichever is greater.
- Cancellation received between 21 and 14 days prior to departure - 50% of the total cost per person.
- Cancellation received less then 14 days prior to departure or for non arrival - 100 % of the total cost per person.
Car Rental
- Cancellation received more then 3 days prior to departure - $50 per car or 10% of the total cost whichever is greater.
- Cancellation received less then 3 days prior to departure or no shows - $100 per car or 10% of total cost whichever is greater.
BROCHURE DESCRIPTIONS
Alitours has put forth all necessary efforts to ensure that at time of publication all description in the present brochure are accurate. For several reasons beyond the control of Alitours, modifications can take place during the season, which may affect brochure description. These modifications will be noted and Alitours computer reservation link will be updated accordingly. It is the travel agent responsibility to advise the customer of there modifications. No representative of Alitours is authorized to alter or ignore any of the provision hereof.
COSTS NOT INCLUDED:
Each package includes only the items specially mentioned as included. For greater clarity the following are NOT included: service charges at the hotels where required, personal expenses (all drinks during meals, wine or alcoholic drinks), optional excursions, and all that is not specifically stipulated as being included in the package must be paid by the passenger. Airport taxes, passport fees, insurance and gratuities are not included in the cost of package.
ALITOURS REPRESENTATIVE AND PROBLEM HANDLING
The Alitours representative will meet you on arrival at the destination. After arrival, our representative will give a welcome briefing during which you will be provided with important information about your package and the resort area. If you have any queries or problems, please contact our representative and/or the hotel. Please address any issues or concerns with the hotel and/or Alitours representative. Do not wait until you return home
CUSTOMER SERVICE
Alitours must be given every opportunity to resolve customer complaints in destination. All concerns must be addressed to the customer service department. Only unresolved customer service issues, which were properly addressed at destination, can be submitted in writing within 30 days after termination of scheduled travel dates. Include any unused documents with the correspondence. Claims or demands received after 30 days will not be responded to. Please allow 90 days for processing. All correspondence must be directed through the travel agent of record. Alitours is not responsible for any representation made by travel agent, hotel employees or suppliers of any kind. No agent or representatives of Alitours may waive any provisions of there terms & conditions. The invalidity of any provision contained herein shall not affect the validity of any other provision.
NOTICE TO TRAVELLERS:
Travelers should be aware that different living standards and practices that might exist outside of Canada including but not limited to: provision of utilities, e.g. water and electricity; accommodations; services of all kinds; food; food preparation and water quality. The TOUR OPERATOR shall not be responsible for any loss, damage or injury resulting from different living standards. All hotels undergo routine maintenance and renovation. Certain resort areas are undergoing major growth with considerable ongoing construction.
DOCUMENTATION:
It is the passenger’s responsibility to obtain, at his/her own expense, all documentation required by all relevant Government authorities, e.g. Special documentation will be required for minors traveling alone and for single parents traveling with children. It is suggested that prior to departure, the passenger ascertain the documentation required. In the event that the passenger does not possess the documentation required by the destination or the carrier, the carrier reserves the right to refuse passage.
CHILDREN:
Unless stated otherwise, children’s prices are restricted to children 2 – 11 years of age at the time of departure, sharing a room with 2 full paying passenger
TOUR ESCORTS/GUIDES :
Some tours may be conducted by multilingual escorts and may include passengers speaking other languages. Longer tours may warrant escorts to be substituted during the tour.
LAND OPERATOR & SUPPLIER :
All land services offered by Alitours are operated by suppliers that are independently contracted with Alitours.
RESPONSIBILITY:
All bookings are accepted on the specific condition that Alitours and/or associated companies, agents or subagents act only as booking agents for the passenger in regard to travel by rail, motor-coach, car rental, private car, aircraft, boat or any other conveyance, and assume no liability or injury, damage loss accident, delay or irregularity which may be occasioned either by reason of defect in any vehicle or for any reason whatsoever, or through the acts of default of any company or person engaged in carrying out the arrangements of the tour. Neither Alitours, nor its subsidiaries etc., here or abroad shall become liable for loss or consequences due to delay, schedule changes or any cause or irregularity occasioned by cancellation, overbooking, or strikes of airline(s), train(s), hotel(s), car rental company(ies), ground service operators. In addition to “force majeure” acts of God, etc. Under these circumstances, no portion of land arrangements will be refunded. Nor shall Alitours or the airlines concerned be liable for the late arrival of passengers at airport or at hotels, nor are they liable for the refunds of unused hotel accommodations or meals occasioned by such late arrivals.
