Day 1: Arrival Havana
Meet and greet at Jose Marti Airport by a representative of ALITOURS. Transfer by private car to the Presidente Hotel. Check-in. Welcome cocktail. Dinner at the hotel. (D)
Day 2: Havana
Breakfast. Morning tour of Colonial Havana visiting Plaza de Armas, El Templete, Mercaderes Street, Palacio de los Capitanes Generales, Ambos Mundos where renowned writer Ernest Hemingway lived, Cathedral Square, La Bodeguita del Medio and the House of Rum to sample and to become acquainted with the Havana Club rum manufacturing process. The tour continues to the Museum of Revolution, Central Park, The Grand Theatre, and the National Capitolio. Lunch at La Maison the house of Cuban fashion. Option to return to the hotel or venture on to discover more of Havana. Dinner at El Eljibe a Cuban restaurant. After dinner an opportunity to explore Havana by night. (B/L/D)
Day 3: Havana
Breakfast. Today take a tour of modern Havana visiting the Embassy district, Revolution Square and the Jose Marti Memorial plus a panoramic tour of the University of Havana campus and the Colon Necropolis. Return to the hotel to get ready to spend the afternoon at the exclusive private Club Havana. Relax by the pool or beach and enjoy lunch by the seaside. Return to the hotel relax and get ready for dinner. Optional: an evening under the stars at the famous Tropicana Cabaret. (B/L/D)
Day 4: Havana/Santiago
Breakfast. Transfer by Air to Santiago de Cuba. Upon arrival transfer and check in at San Juan. Welcome cocktail. Santiago de Cuba was the capital of the island during the first half of the 16th century. It is famous for its history, hospitality, delightful people, traditional rhythm and dance (Bolero and Son). Pick up at the hotel for a short city tour of Santiago de Cuba with a late afternoon lunch at the El Morro Castle restaurant. Return to the hotel. Dinner. Evening at leisure. (B/L/D)
Day 5: Santiago de Cuba
Breakfast. Pick up at the hotel to visit the Sanctuary of La Caridad del Cobre, the patron saint of Cuba. Free time to explore the beauty of this secluded shrine. Return to Santiago for lunch at Cayo Granma Restaurant. After lunch a panoramic tour of the 26th of July Museum and the Granjita Siboney. Return to the hotel for dinner.
Evening at leisure to either visit Casa de la Trova (home of Cuba’s traditional music with old Santiago minstrels singing), Tropicana Santiago Cabaret or any of the many musical venues in Santiago. (B/L/D)
Day 6: Santiago de Cuba
Breakfast. Free day. Options of things to do today: Continue to explore Santiago visiting attractions such as The House of Diego Velazquez (the oldest on the island), Emilio Bacardi Museum, San Juan Hill, The Trova House Carnival Museum, Baconao Park or Valle de la Prehistoria. Or take an excursion with lunch to the Gran Piedra. Evening at leisure. (B)
Day 7: Santiago de Cuba/Havana
Breakfast, transfer to Maceo Antonio Airport to take a local flight to Havana. Upon arrival transfer and check in at the Panorama Hotel. In the afternoon at your leisure enjoy a cool drink by the poolside or go for a walk along Obisque Street and mingle with the local people in Old Havana. In the evening, dinner with entertainment at the Havana Café located adjacent to the hotel Melia Cohiba. (B/D)
Day 8: Depart Havana
Breakfast. Depending on departure flight times, the morning is at leisure or transfer to the airport for the departure. (B) |
