Built on the site of a 6th century castle, this beautiful oasis of peace and tranquility is the perfect getaway for a romantic rendezvous with that special someone.The farmland is home to a herd of Chianina cattle, one of the rarest and oldest breeds in the world and semi wild Senese pigs and form a part of the farm's commitment to an authentic and top quality dining experience for which the farm has achieved a strong reputation both locally and abroad. Montelucci is ideally situated for an exploration of many famous medieval hill top towns which hold regular costumed festivals to celebrate their history and traditions such as picturesque Castiglion Fiorentino which comes alive in May/June and neighbouring Cortona, made famous by Frances Mayes in her book and film ‘Under The Tuscan Sun’ and also home of the famous Chianina Steak and Porcini Sagre. Visit the universally esteemed wine centre Montelpulciano and sample the exquisite cheeses of nearby Pienza.

There are a wide range of activities on offer which enable guests to combine relaxation with more energetic activities such as mountain biking, trekking, horse riding or game shooting. If that sounds too much why not treat yourself to an anti-stress or Shiatsu massage or simply relax by the privately positioned pool and soak in the sun and surrounding countryside. During your stay with us you will experience the luxury of wholesome food and fresh mountain air, a real treat for the body, mind and soul not to mention the palate! The farm offers their own organic produce, enjoyed in the lovingly restored restaurant, Locanda Montelucci, enjoying spectacular views over vineyards and country estate. Enjoy traditional Tuscan fare carefully prepared using only their own or local natural produce. Choose from the ‘A La Carte’ Menu boasting home raised Chianina beef (original Florentine Steak), Senese prosciutto and wine produced from their own vineyard. Centrally featured in the spacious and locally renowned restaurant is an antique grindstone as a reminder that this was once a successful olive mill, a tradition which the farm keeps alive, producing and bottling their own oil on site. The farm organize special culinary and wine tastings complemented by a generous selection of fine wines including Montelucci Chianti made with Sangiovese grapes harvested from the surrounding vines. |
